January 10, 1947 – On This Date In Hip-Hop, Alice “Afeni Shakur” Williams was born in Lumberton, North Carolina. Afeni Shakur would grow up to: (1) become a Black Panther, (2) push 2pac out the womb and tell him nigga get paid, (3) punish 2pac by making him read the New York Times, (4) be a Black Queen even as a crack fiend, (5) beat the Feds as a member of the Panther 21 — while pregnant with Tupac, (6) become a lecturer and business woman, (7) create Amaru Records and the Tupac Shakur Art Foundation.
