March 19, 1990 – On This Date In Hip-Hop, Tone Loc covered Newsweek magazine — for all the wrong reasons. See, the people over at Newsweek did a cover story about the anger in rap music… While NWA was saying F[!]ck the Police and Too $hort was using Cuss Words, the editors decided that friendly ass Tone Loc would make good for the cover.
