April 1, 2012 – On This Date In Hip-Hop, a then-17-year-old Diggy Simmons dropped a J. Cole diss track called “What You Say To Me and we all wished it was an April Fool’s joke.

Diggy apparently wasn’t feeling the ALLEGED subliminals that Cole was shooting at his sister Vanessa Simmons on “Purple Rain” (the two attended St. Johns University together) and the direct jab to him on “Grew Up Fast.”

FORTUNATELY this beef was resolved before anybody was killed.
