February 7: 2pac Sentenced To Prison. (1995)
February 07, 1995 – On This Date In Hip-Hop, 2pac was sentenced to a 1 1/2 – 4 1/2 year prison term for the 1st degree sexual abuse (groping) of Ayanna Jackson. He would apologize to the victim but maintain his innocence during the court hearing saying, “I leave this in the hands of God.”
2pac’s Me Against The World would drop while Tupac was incarcerated and debut at #1 on the 2pac 200 – making him the 1st to have an album debut at #1 while serving time in prison. #RIP2pac.
