September 4, 2012 – On This Date In Hip-Hop, Joseph “LiL’ Jo Jo” Coleman was shot dead shortly after tweeting out his location. The “BDK” rapper was involved in a back and forth with members of 300 (ChiefKeef n’em) – a faction of the Black Disciples gang. Coleman was riding on the handlebars of his friends bike in Chicago’s Englewood area when he was pulled up on and mortally wounded by gunfire.
