January 17, 1971 – On This Date In Hip-Hop, Brother J of X Clan was born. Brother J would grow up to: (1) become a member of X CLAN, (2) form Dark Sun Riders, (3) release 4 albums as a group, (4) be an Ambassador of Hip Hop Culture (5) works with community organizations to bridge the gap between elders and youth in promoting ancestral studios, creative writing, social interaction and Hip Hop Culture (6) found the Culture United Movement and (7) receive resolutions from the Cities of Compton, Carson and the California State Assembly in recognition of his exceptional achievements, dedication to the community and contributions to African history and culture.
