June 28: 2pac’s Wrongful Death Deposition. (1995)
June 28, 1995 – On This Date In Hip-Hop, 2pac was questioned during a deposition related to an unlawful death lawsuit filed by the estate of a murdered Texas state trooper. The trooper’s widow claimed Tupac’s lyrics incited a Black teenager to kill her husband during a traffic stop.
Pac’s police brutality-themed 2Pacalypse Now was found in the suspects tape deck and the 19-year-old killer’s actions were blamed partly on the song “Violent” which talks about being stopped and hemmed up by the police. RIP 2pac
