August 19, 1969 – On This Date In Hip-Hop, Nathaniel “Nate Dogg” Hale was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Nate Dogg would grow up to: (1) move to Long Beach at the age of 14, (2) sing in church, (3) drop out of school, (4) join the Marines as an ammunition specialist, (5) become 1/3 of 213 with Warren G and Snoop Dogg, (6) debut on Dr. Dre’s The Chronic, (7) release 3 albums, (8) act in films, (9) regulate, and (10) unfortunately pass away from complications of multiple strokes. RIP Nate Dogg
