April 2: Afeni Shakur Arrested. (1969)

April 2, 1969 – On This Date In Hip-Hop, Afeni Shakur and 20 other Black Panther members were arrested and charged with conspiracy to blow up department stores, subways and police stations. The group would be known as the Panther21.

While out on bail and awaiting trial, Afeni got pregnant. 5 months into her term, her bail was revoked and she was returned to prison. She served as her own lawyer and beat the case. 1 month and 3 days later – 2pac was born. Look at God.
