June 23, 2010 – On This Date In Hip-Hop, 2pac’s “Dear Mama” was added to the National Recording Registry in the Library of Congress for being deemed culturally, historic or aesthetically important in reflecting life in AmeriKKKa. Tupac’s song is up in there with The Star Spangled Banner, Aretha Franklin’s RESPECT, The Message and Martin Luther King’s i Have A Dream speech – to name a few.
