Agreed sonically. The upsurge is only that tho. An upsurge of what started it all but is now just a never-ending fad. I think today, Pac Div would be looked passed by the drug heavy raps of Griselda or any other semi-indie movement that has real street/criminal/gangster ties and activity.
Definitely missed a lot of their music but I always loved what I heard. Honestly think they would have less of an impact today. They barely hit when they were on.
In todays climate, I only see G-funk as a movement that could resurge like RIGHT NOW right now. I see something new coming before any resurgence. Drill isn’t even finished yet.
Ha, only really like Dot and Gibbs for the presence and flow, though it seems Gibbs needs an elite producer to be heard. Only want to hear the rest for what’s been happening in the news. Who you checking for?
