If Pac Div came out today, do y’all feel as if they would have a bigger impact on the game now?

Definitely missed a lot of their music but I always loved what I heard. Honestly think they would have less of an impact today. They barely hit when they were on.

After battling with Atlantic, they weren’t heard on a major scale for the charts. Sonically speaking, their sound is right in line with the upsurge in more underground music.

Agreed sonically. The upsurge is only that tho. An upsurge of what started it all but is now just a never-ending fad. I think today, Pac Div would be looked passed by the drug heavy raps of Griselda or any other semi-indie movement that has real street/criminal/gangster ties and activity.

I beg to differ. I respect that opinion though because it’s been proven true (especially from ‘02 – ‘10), but so has the latter. It really depends on which way the pendulum swings. Dudes like SABA, Big KRIT, Coast Contra (who dropped today), The Cool Kids, Noveliss, etc. would of never saw daylight if drug/gangsta rap really hit like that for everyone. Overseas fans show these type of groups/artists more love than we do.
Pac Div officially began in 06, caught a buzz in 08, and loss momentum after GMB dropped in ‘14. During their buzz, the major waves were saturated with Wayne and anyone remotely close to him. Even with that, Likewise still snatched a grammy producing for K Dot (Sing About Me). I’d put them in the same realm as Curren$y, doing well independently, if they still made music consistently.
